"There's a lot being made of Detroit's urban farming movement - especially regarding entrepreneurs and land-use implications. But urban farming can also change city residents. Take Brightmoor, for example -- a neighborhood where community efforts to establish a plot of veggies and flowers has impacted its residents in a number of different ways. When young people tend vegetable and flower gardens on Grayfield Street in Brightmoor, they may be learning about "green," as in ecology, but they're also learning about green, as in money."
